Underwater Welding and Cutting

Blast Off!

A specialised diver for a specialised job. Gilbert Diving employee divers with trades in engineering and fabrication to carry out significant projects in underwater welding and cutting. Underwater welding is achieved by reversing the polarity of a DC welder, while the diver uses an underwater hand piece and welding rods.
Underwater cutting systems such as Broco provide a fast, efficient and cost effective means of completing underwater cutting, piercing and gouging. Equipment includes a torch, regulator, knife switch and the cutting rods which produce a temperature hot enough to quickly cut or melt through cast iron, stainless steel, brass and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
