SCOPE OF OPERATIONS

BRIDGE INSPECTIONS:

Extensive bridge & structure inspection, as of April 2007 over 500 inspections have been completed, contracts for the RTA & Queensland Rail completed with more in progress. All types of bridges, steel, concrete and timber. Detailed reporting with video and photographic evidence

PILE REMOVAL:

We have removed reinforced concrete, steel and timber piles and complete bridges using a variety of tools including hydraulic and pneumatic chain saws, exothermic cutting equipment, and jackhammers

Nerang 1994: Removal of 2metre diameter concrete cast encased pile from trench line. Using exothermic cutting gear and drilling and blasting.
Yamba 1996: Removal of nine 400mm diameter reinforced concrete piles, using jackhammer and Exothermic cutting equipment.
Kempsey 1996: Cut off 42 timber piles, 350mm diameter using pneumatic chain saw.
Minnie Waters 1997: Cut off 30 timber piles, 350mm diameter
using pneumatic chain saw.
Ballina 2000: Cut off 9 timber piles and removed from river.
Macksville 2001: Cut off and remove 24 reinforced concrete piles.
Tucabia 2003: Cut off 20 timber piles up to 400mm diameter.
Tweed Heads 2003: Cut off and remove 14 reinforced concrete piles in redundant jetty.
Various pile removals for Tweed Shire Council.
Brisbane 2006: steel reinforcing rods removal.
Brunswick 2006: Remove temporary piles under the new Brunswick River Bridge for ABI Group.
Brunswick 2007: Remove old bridge piles in the Brunswick River for ABI Group.

EXOTHERMIC CUTTING & WELDING:

Brisbane 1990: Admiralty wharf, cutting “H” beam piles.
Tweed Heads 1990: Inside 900mm diameter pile, cut away broken edges of parted weld. Depth: 16metres.
Murwillumbah 1994: Cutting sheet piling of cofferdam around new raw water intake.
Barney’s Pt. 1994: Cutting 470mm diameter steel piles off at bed level.
Tallebudgera 1995: Cut off temporary steel piles.
Tweed Heads 1995: Slipway, cutting off dog spikes.
Tweed Heads 1995: Welding repairs in holed dredge.
Fingal 1996: Cut off “H” beam mooring piles.
Waterford 1998: Cut off re-bars from demolished bridge in nil visibility.

Glen Innes 2003: Cut off “H” Beams up to 25mm thick.
2006: TSC: removal of steel “I” beam piles
2007: Abi Group / Brunswick Heads: cutting and removal of old bridge piles and temporary piles.
2007: TSC Cudgen Creek: trimming pile casings to precision cutting.
2008: WISA Bromelton: cutting of 21m of sheet piling.
2008: WISA Cedar Grove: removal of temporary steel bridge supports.

SOIL TESTING:

Tweed River 1991: Core sampling with 100mm barrel Vibracorer.
Brisbane River 1991: Bottom sampling in sand transfer basin at Luggage Pt.
Moreton Bay 1994: Core sampling with polycarbonate tubing in Spitfire Channel for dredging contract.
Brisbane 1996: Bottom sampling for dredging contract in Kedron Floodway.
Tweed Bar 1997: Core sampling with polycarbonate tubing for
dredging contract.
Tweed River 2002: Retrieve sand samples with polycarbonate tubing for dredging project.

SALVAGE:

Moreton Bay 1984: Recover 14tonne ships anchor and chain, using barge and winches.
Redcliffe 1984: Recover trawler sunk at wharf, using crane mounted on barge.
Moreton Island 1988: Salvage 18metre concrete yacht, using
air bags. Tow back to Sanctuary Cove.
Tweed Bar 1995-96: Recover dredging equipment, including:
Suction pipes, drag heads, rudders, anchors and chains.
Tweed Bar 1998: Removal of steel trawler from dredging area.
Yamba Wall 1999: Removal of trawler wreckage.
2000 to 2008: various local area salvages of pleasure craft.
Iluka 2006: salvage ferry.

SHIP REPAIRS & INSPECTIONS:

Kirra 1990 – Inspection & propeller maintenance on suction hopper dredge and tug.
Brisbane and Tweed 1995-96: Repairing damage from grounding of trailer suction hopper dredges.
Emergency plugging of holes in hull and welding on patches, grinding damaged propellers, replacing hopper doors.
Harwood 2000-2002: Inspecting and repairing holes in Island supply ships.
Gladstone 2002: Ship repairs to grounded bulk carrier.
Sydney 2005 – HMAS “Success” – Navy – Weld repairs on hull

Tweed 1996: Still photo survey of 150-metre dredge after grounding on Tweed Bar.

PIPELINES:

Repairs inspections and laying.
Tweed 1998: Laying of two 450mm HDPE pipes, sewerage and fresh water.
Horn Is. to Thursday Is. 1991: Laying of 350mm HDPE pipe,
trenching, joining underwater and burying.
Barney’s Pt. 1992: Repair several splits in 450mm dia. mains water pipe.
Surfers Paradise 1994: Laying of HDPE pipe for phone cables.
Terranora Inlet 1996: Repair 450mm HDPE sewer rising main, 4Metres below surrounding bed level.
Brooms Head Nov.1998-June 1999: Install 160mm HDPE ocean
intake pipe and fit filters and bury. Fish farm facility.
Cudgera Creek 2006 Pipeline of 2 x 450mm HDPE pipes burial TSC

POWER CABLE:

Frazer Island 2000: Excavating cable from trench in seabed and cutting underwater for recovery to surface. Repair to joint then carried out. Decompression dives required.

SCAFFOLDING:

Ashmore 1997: Laid sandbag base and 260 scaffold jacks and foundations, for grandstand over water in Royal Pines Marina.
Capable of holding 800 people.

DREDGING OPERATIONS SUPPORT:

Offshore Kirra Beach 1990:( Over 5 month period). Installation of 900mm dia. dredge pipe and 150tonne S.B.M. with 7tonne anchors and chains.
Extensive repairs required after Cyclone Nancy.
Clearing fouled propellers of trailer dredge and attendant tug.
Offshore Coolangatta Beach 1995: Similar work as above one metre dia. pipe with flanged joints. Continuing maintenance of joints during dredging operations.
Brisbane 1996: Fitting of blanking plate on culvert. Floodway
at Brisbane airport.
Gladstone 1999: Maintenance of 750mm dia. submerged
pipeline connections.

ENVIRONMENTAL DIVING:

Tweed Heads 1992-94: Outfall pipe pressure testing,
inserting inflatable plugs in 700mm dia. pipe, via manhole.
Treated effluent.
Terranora Inlet 1996: Repairs to sewer rising main, raw sewerage.
Gold Coast City Council: 1997 until current: Remedial work in S.T.Plants
at Coombabah, Elanora, Oxenford and Merrimac.
Coffs Harbour 1997 & 1999: Maintenance on aerator paddle
stanchions. Raw sewerage.
Byron Bay & Tweed Heads 1999: Removal of asbestos fencing
in effluent ponds.
Toowoomba 1999: Recovery of foreign object from sludge tank.
Beaudesert: 1999: Recovery of lifting chains for aerator pump
in Gelatine waste pond.
2007: Byron Bay Shire Council / ITT Flyght, new installation of aerators in WWTP.
2008: Various remedial and maintenance to WWTP’s in South East QLD and NSW.

SLIPWAYS:

Brisbane 1987: Repairs to new slipway at Lloyds Ships, Bulimba.
Brisbane 1995: Repairs to J.S.Gilbert Slipways at Hemmant
Tweed Heads 1995-2002: Repairs and maintenance to Fisherman’s Assoc. slipway.
Harwood 1999: Inspection and report of berthing wharf piles.
2006: Tweed Heads Slipway: renew sliprails, ongoing maintenance.
2006: Coffs Harbour Slipway, renew sliprails and maintenance.

CABLE TRENCHING:

Murwillumbah & Oxenford 1989: Burying phone cables for Telstra.
Nerang 1992: Trench for cable requiring drilling and blasting
Tumbulgum 1997: Burying cable for Telstra.

OFFSHORE BUOY MAINTENANCE & INSTRUMENTS:

Pt. Cartwright- Mooloolaba 1995: Initial survey and report
followed by replacement. Depth: 25metres.
Pt. Macquarie, Yamba, Tweed 1989 until current: Service of
offshore tide instruments for Manly Hydraulics Laboratory
of N.S.W. Depth: Up to 30metres.
Moreton Bay-Caloundra 1999: Change Entrance Beacon. Rigid
buoy, connected by swivel arrangement to 18tonne concrete block.
Cook Island 2000-1: Service 5 Sanctuary Zone Markers.
1990 - SBM Buoy for GCCC at Kirra for dredging operations, including mooring chain replacement after cyclone.

MOORINGS:

Hay Pt. QLD. 1993: Making up and setting moorings for large grab dredge, and 1000 tonne dump barges.
Tweed Heads 1990-2008: Maintenance of Anchorage Islands swing moorings.
1999-2008: Laying of new moorings and maintenance for recreational boats at Boyd’s Bay, Paradise Point, and Jacobs Well.

LOCKS & DRY DOCKS:

Glenelg S.A.: Removing tube worm growth from flushing tunnels.
Ashby Dock NS.W. 1998-99: Maintenance.
Monterey Keys Lock 1999 - 2007: GCCC Maintenance, refit pin in lock door on ongoing maintenance.
Royal Pines Marina 2000: Inspect and report, maintenance on
lubrication system.

DAMS & RESERVOIRS:

1997-2008: Inspection and maintenance on Little Nerang, Rocky Creek, Emmigrant Creek, Mt.Crosby and Clarrie Hall, Longreach Reservoirs, Gold Coast City Council Reservoirs, Byron Shire Reservoir, North Stradbroke Island Reservoir, Tweed Shire Council Reservoirs.
2007: Rous Water: Rocky Creek Water Treatment Reservoir repairs

CORE SAMPLING:

St.Lawrence NSW 1999: Core Samples from cast iron bridge piles. Heritage Bridge.
Tweed 2000: Core Samples from timber piles in Heritage Bridge at Kynnumboon.
Goodwood Island Wharf 2001: 18 Core samples from concrete piles in ship wharf in Clarence River. Sealing holes with Seacrete
(Emaco S90), and powerful Epoxy Injection.
Queensland Rail 2007: core sampling of bridges.
