Commercial Diving Specialists - Contaminated Environment / Pollution Diving

Gilbert Diving has the capabilities to dive and operate in any contaminated underwater environment, such as sewage treatment plants, waste water treatment plants and any body of contaminated water.

We are equipped with two complete pollution suits and helmets which are set up as required by AS/NZS 2299/1/2007 Occupational Diving Operations, Part 1 Standard Operational Practice. Divers and all gear are sterilised under strict disinfection guidelines before and after each dive to protect our diver’s and the environment.

Contaminated environment diving such as in Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP’s), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP’s) and rising mains is undertaken regularly for councils and private companies, this can involve:

  • General maintenance and repairs
  • Installations
  • Modifications
  • Aerator paddle recovery and installation
  • Inflatable plug installation for pipe testing and valve isolation
  • Reporting and repairs to sewer rising mains, abattoirs and gelatine ponds.

Usually underwater contaminated environments have very little to no visibility, so photographs and video are not always possible.
At Gilbert diving we have and continue to sustain an outstanding safety record. We are committed to working in and maintaining a safe and professional work environment at all times through our successful safety management system.
