Bridge Inspection and underwater structure inspection, report, repair, cleaning and maintenance
Underwater bridge inspections and maintenance are a speciality of Gilbert Diving, as commercial divers we have had extensive experience in this field, working with Queensland Rail (QR), Roads and Traffic Authority NSW (RTA), regional councils such as Bundaberg Regional Council and Tweed Shire Council as well as large engineering firms such as GHD and SKM. .
The inspection of the underwater elements of bridges, piles, piers, abutments and culverts is a vital part of asset maintenance being carried out for government agencies and private companies. We provide custom made comprehensive reports to engineers which contain a condition report with photographic and video evidence when required. Maintenance of the bridge is also a part of the service provided such as:
-
Cleaning off marine growth from underwater structures using a high pressure water blaster
-
Band installation
-
Pile wrapping
-
Core sampling
-
Installing cathodic protection.
Gilbert Diving uses NDT (non destructive testing) to analyse and evaluate the properties of particular elements of bridges, piles, piers & underwater steel structures. Through the NDT method of testing there is no permanent alteration or damage done to the structure, for that reason this can be a favoured method of testing for inspections.
The key priority for Gilbert Diving is providing a safe workplace environment for our employees. When conducting bridge inspection or repairs in North QLD crocodiles present a safety challenge to our divers therefore we developed a specialised crocodile protection cage to combat this safety concern.
At Gilbert diving we have and continue to sustain an outstanding safety record. We are committed to working in and maintaining a safe and professional work environment at all times through our successful safety management system. |
